Rover Images

Could this be a monument to Neptune/Poseidon?

The ancient Babylonian deity Marduk was associated with the planet Mars. The name Marduk was not revealed to the masses but his attributes were set forth under pseudonyms of various gods constructed for the public interest. Under the name Apsu (P*S), Marduk became Poseidon who founded Atlantis which was named after his son Atlas.

NASA's images PIA06917 & PIA06770

These images from the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Spirit were shown at Cornell on September 30, 2004, about one week before their official unveiling. During his lecture titled "Roving on Mars", Jim Bell called them the "defining images of the mission."

On August 5th, 2004, as the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit was making the slow climb out of Gusev crater on its way toward the so-called “Pot of Gold,” JPL commanded the rover to turn south and take a set of images of a nearby rocky outcrop and the plains (and rim) of Gusev beyond. The outcrop, nicknamed “Longhorn” by the MER-JPL ടീം.

Is This A Giant Spider Or Maybe A Mechanical Giant Spider On Mars?

I have found a lot of strange things on Mars but this has to be one of the strangest.  It seems to be a giant spider or maybe a mechanical giant spider.
